Designed to lift saddle away from the withers and shoulders, the pommel pad can help with saddle fit problems. Great for young horses or for horses with changed musculature after lay-up. Wool can absorb 30 percent of its own weight in moisture before it will feel really damp and prevents static electricity, so this pad won't attract dirt and dust from the enviroment, but if it does, wool is washable.

This wool is shorn wool off the sheep and backed onto acrylic, making it a woven fiber, whereas wool left on the hide (i.e. sheepskin), can be considered a "live" fiber. While wool is a perfect thermal balancing layer, it loses the pressure point relieving properties of sheepskin. In order to give you a pad with both thermal balancing qualities and pressure point relieving properties, we added removable Vicso-Elastic (i.e. memory foam) panels.
